Oliver v. Ambrose, 152 N.J. 383, 705 A.2d 742 (1998)

Practice Areas: Appellate Practice, General Liability

Mother and her new husband brought tort action against father four months after their harassment and adoption claims against him were settled and dismissed. Father filed declaratory judgment actions against his homeowners’ insurers. After actions were consolidated, the trial court granted summary judgment to father and insurers based on entire controversy doctrine, and mother and husband appealed. The Superior Court, Appellate Division, affirmed, and mother and husband appealed again. The Supreme Court, Garibaldi, J., held that entire controversy doctrine applied.
