Amanda J. Sawyer

Ms. Sawyer joined Methfessel & Werbel in September 2009 after completing a judicial clerkship with the Honorable John Tomasello of the New Jersey Superior Court in Gloucester and Salem Counties. Ms. Sawyer’s primary responsibility was reviewing motions and making recommendations to the Judge regarding final disposition. Ms. Sawyer also researched legal issues; prepared tentative dispositions and orders; and mediated family law, small claim, and civil matters, as needed.

While attending law school, Ms. Sawyer served as Associate Editor of the Syracuse Law Review and as the Lionel O. Grossman Competition Director for the Moot Court Honor Society. Ms. Sawyer’s student note, Real Men May Not Cry, But They Are Victims of Domestic Violence: Bias in the Application of Domestic Violence Laws, was published in the 2007 edition of the Syracuse Law Review. Ms. Sawyer was awarded the Scribes Award from the American Society of Legal Writers and the Robert M. Anderson Publication Award for same. Ms. Sawyer also earned her Family Law and Social Policy Certificate and was admitted to the Zeta Gamma Chapter of the Phi Alpha Honor Society, which is a National Social Work Honor Society.

Ms. Sawyer is a member of the general liability team at Methfessel & Werbel and practices under the direction of Paul J. Endler.
