Jennifer Osborne joined Methfessel & Werbel in 2024.  Prior to joining M&W, Jennifer was one of the founding Partners in a boutique New Jersey education law firm.

Jennifer has been successfully representing boards of education since 2004.  She specializes in the area of general board counsel and has significant expertise in the areas of board ethics; personnel; tenure and seniority; individual contract negotiations; board policy review and compliance; employee complaint investigations; Open Public Records Act compliance; and student issues, including but not limited to harassment, intimidation, and bullying matters, student code of conduct issues, and student residency matters.  Jennifer regularly attends school board meetings; drafts and reviews board policies and regulations; and provides legal opinions on all areas of personnel, student matters, and school district operations.  A former teacher, Jennifer particularly understands the inner workings of school district operations and pulls from that experience to better assist clients in developing collaborative, practical, and efficient solutions.

Jennifer appears on lecture panels for the New Jersey School Boards Association, New Jersey Association of School Business Officials, and the Seton Hall Superintendent Study Council.  She routinely provides legal training for her clients, including board workshops, administrator trainings, and staff seminars.

Jennifer has served multiple terms as a Trustee for the New Jersey Association of School Attorneys.  In 2013, Jennifer was recognized by the New Jersey Law Journal as one of New Jersey’s New Leaders of the Bar.

Jennifer began her legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Miriam N. Span, P.J.S.C. (Ret.), in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division, General Equity and Probate Part (Union Vicinage), and thereafter as an attorney at a mid-sized general practice firm where she was a Partner and member of the Education Law Group.
